Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.”

“Let me rise then and go about the city, through the streets and squares; Let me seek him whom my soul loves.” I sought him but I did not find him.

You brood of vipers, how can you say good things when you are evil? For from the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

They were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living one among the dead?

Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which translated means Teacher), “where are you staying?”

Jesus, knowing everything that was going to happen to him, went out and said to them, “Whom are you looking for?”

So he again asked them, “Whom are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus the Nazorean.”

And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.”

Do not think your servant a worthless woman; my prayer has been prompted by my deep sorrow and misery.”
