But the king replied: “What business is it of mine or of yours, sons of Zeruiah, that he curses? Suppose the Lord has told him to curse David; who then will dare to say, ‘Why are you doing this?’”

But from God who decides, who brings some low and raises others high.

Because you followed your sister’s path, I will put her cup into your hand.

Jesus said in reply, “You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the cup that I am going to drink?” They said to him, “We can.”

He advanced a little and fell prostrate in prayer, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will.”

Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, “My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!”

All the nations of the world seek for these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

saying, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be done.” [

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

Father, they are your gift to me. I wish that where I am they also may be with me, that they may see my glory that you gave me, because you loved me before the foundation of the world.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world. If my kingdom did belong to this world, my attendants [would] be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not here.”

Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

for the weapons of our battle are not of flesh but are enormously powerful, capable of destroying fortresses. We destroy arguments

in truthful speech, in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness at the right and at the left;

while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God.
