What help you give to the powerless, what strength to the feeble arm!
When it was noon, Elijah taunted them: “Call louder, for he is a god; he may be busy doing his business, or may be on a journey. Perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened.”
No doubt you are the people with whom wisdom shall die!
Then Job answered and said:
How you give counsel to one without wisdom; how profuse is the advice you offer!
Look, you yourselves have all seen it; why do you spend yourselves in empty words!
What strength have I that I should endure, and what is my limit that I should be patient?
Have I the strength of stones, or is my flesh of bronze?
Have I no helper, and has my good sense deserted me?
How painful honest words can be; yet how unconvincing is your argument!
Do not cast me aside in my old age; as my strength fails, do not forsake me.
Whom did he consult to gain knowledge? Who taught him the path of judgment, or showed him the way of understanding?
