Afterward the Israelites will turn back and seek the Lord, their God, and David, their king; They will come trembling to the Lord and to his bounty, in the last days.

“Come, let us return to the Lord, For it is he who has torn, but he will heal us; he has struck down, but he will bind our wounds.

Yet even now—oracle of the Lord— return to me with your whole heart, with fasting, weeping, and mourning.

I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of mercy and supplication, so that when they look on him whom they have thrust through, they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and they will grieve for him as one grieves over a firstborn. Begin to lament, to mourn, to weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection.
