The angel who has delivered me from all harm, bless these boys That in them my name be recalled, and the names of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac, And they may become teeming multitudes upon the earth!”

When evildoers come at me to devour my flesh, These my enemies and foes themselves stumble and fall.

The Lord helps and rescues them, rescues and saves them from the wicked, because they take refuge in him.

You who love the Lord, hate evil, he protects the souls of the faithful, rescues them from the hand of the wicked.

For the tyrant shall be no more, the scoffer shall cease to be; All who are ready for evil shall be cut off,

The horde of your arrogant shall be like fine dust, a horde of tyrants like flying chaff. Then suddenly, in an instant,

I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as though with new wine. All flesh shall know that I, the Lord, am your savior, your redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Every weapon fashioned against you shall fail; every tongue that brings you to trial you shall prove false. This is the lot of the servants of the Lord, their vindication from me—oracle of the Lord.

You shall suck the milk of nations, and be nursed at royal breasts; And you shall know that I, the Lord, am your savior, your redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

This word came to me from the Lord:

Sing to the Lord, praise the Lord, For he has rescued the life of the poor from the power of the evildoers!

But the hand of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, protected Jeremiah, so they did not hand him over to the people to be put to death.

The Lord shall ransom Jacob, he shall redeem him from a hand too strong for him.

Thus Jeremiah stayed in the court of the guard until the day Jerusalem was taken.

Concerning Jeremiah, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, gave these orders through Nebuzaradan, captain of the bodyguard:

“Take him and look after him; do not let anything happen to him. Whatever he may ask, you must do for him.”

Strong is their Redeemer, whose name is Lord of hosts, The sure defender of their cause, who gives rest to their land, but unrest to those who live in Babylon.

If our God, whom we serve, can save us from the white-hot furnace and from your hands, O king, may he save us!

Azariah stood up in the midst of the fire and prayed aloud:

and do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one.

then the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Greetings from Corinth.

He rescued us from such great danger of death, and he will continue to rescue us; in him we have put our hope [that] he will also rescue us again,
