So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple cloak. And he said to them, “Behold, the man!”

For what the law, weakened by the flesh, was powerless to do, this God has done: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for the sake of sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,

or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the approval of those who do good.
