I will pour out water upon the thirsty ground, streams upon the dry land; I will pour out my spirit upon your offspring, my blessing upon your descendants.

You shall know that your descendants are many, and your offspring like the grass of the earth.

He changed the desert into pools of water, arid land into springs of water,

How long will you turn away at my reproof? [The arrogant delight in their arrogance, and fools hate knowledge.] Lo! I will pour out to you my spirit, I will acquaint you with my words:

I, the Lord, am its keeper, I water it every moment; Lest anyone harm it, night and day I guard it.

Until the spirit from on high is poured out on us. And the wilderness becomes a garden land and the garden land seems as common as forest.

Each of them will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land.

Their offspring shall be renowned among the nations, and their descendants in the midst of the peoples; All who see them shall acknowledge them: “They are offspring the Lord has blessed.”

They shall not toil in vain, nor beget children for sudden destruction; For they shall be a people blessed by the Lord and their descendants with them.

I will settle them around my hill and send rain in its season, the blessing of abundant rain.

I will put my spirit within you so that you walk in my statutes, observe my ordinances, and keep them.

I will no longer hide my face from them once I pour out my spirit upon the house of Israel—oracle of the Lord God.

He said to me, “This water flows out into the eastern district, runs down into the Arabah and empties into the polluted waters of the sea to freshen them.

“Sow for yourselves justice, reap the reward of loyalty; Break up for yourselves a new field, for it is time to seek the Lord, till he comes and rains justice upon you.”

Then you will know that I am in the midst of Israel: I, the Lord, am your God, and there is no other; my people will never again be put to shame.

It shall come to pass I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.

And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, Like a lion among beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep; When it passes through it tramples; it tears and no one can rescue.

I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of mercy and supplication, so that when they look on him whom they have thrust through, they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and they will grieve for him as one grieves over a firstborn. “When an unclean spirit goes out of a person it roams through arid regions searching for rest but finds none.

He said to me, “They are accomplished. I [am] the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give a gift from the spring of life-giving water.

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let the hearer say, “Come.” Let the one who thirsts come forward, and the one who wants it receive the gift of life-giving water.
