He saw Ephraim’s children to the third generation, and the children of Manasseh’s son Machir were also born on Joseph’s knees. Death of Joseph.

Children’s children are the crown of the elderly, and the glory of children is their parentage.

The descendants of Machir, son of Manasseh, went to Gilead and captured it, dispossessing the Amorites who were there.

Now as for the lot that fell to the tribe of Manasseh as the firstborn of Joseph: since Manasseh’s eldest son, Machir, the father of Gilead, was a warrior, who had already obtained Gilead and Bashan,
