You shall not oppress a resident alien; you well know how it feels to be an alien, since you were once aliens yourselves in the land of Egypt. Religious Laws.

You shall not oppress or afflict a resident alien, for you were once aliens residing in the land of Egypt.

The people of the land practice extortion and commit robbery; they wrong the poor and the needy, and oppress the resident alien without justice.

Within you, father and mother are dishonored; they extort the resident alien in your midst; within you, they oppress orphans and widows.

When an alien resides with you in your land, do not mistreat such a one.

Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?’

So you too should love the resident alien, for that is what you were in the land of Egypt.

Never seek their welfare or prosperity as long as you live.

“Cursed be anyone who deprives the resident alien, the orphan or the widow of justice!” And all the people shall answer, “Amen!”
