The Israelites set out from Rameses for Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, not counting the children.

A crowd of mixed ancestry also went up with them, with livestock in great abundance, both flocks and herds.

For seven days you will eat unleavened bread, and the seventh day will also be a festival to the Lord.

They will listen to you. Then you and the elders of Israel will go to the king of Egypt and say to him: The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has come to meet us. So now, let us go a three days’ journey in the wilderness to offer sacrifice to the Lord, our God.

Afterwards, Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Let my people go, that they may hold a feast for me in the wilderness.”

They replied, “The God of the Hebrews has come to meet us. Let us go a three days’ journey in the wilderness, that we may offer sacrifice to the Lord, our God, so that he does not strike us with the plague or the sword.”

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with first fruits of all your produce;

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come And the years approach of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”;

On the fifteenth day of the seventh month you will declare a holy day: you shall do no heavy work. For the following seven days you will celebrate a pilgrimage feast to the Lord.

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up with the training and instruction of the Lord. Slaves and Masters.

If it is displeasing to you to serve the Lord, choose today whom you will serve, the gods your ancestors served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose country you are dwelling. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
