Indeed, if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life.

We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be done away with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin.

obliterating the bond against us, with its legal claims, which was opposed to us, he also removed it from our midst, nailing it to the cross;

And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful.
