I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their kindred, and will put my words into the mouth of the prophet; the prophet shall tell them all that I command.

It was this Moses who said to the Israelites, ‘God will raise up for you, from among your own kinsfolk, a prophet like me.’

A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kindred; that is the one to whom you shall listen.

A king arose in Jeshurun when the chiefs of the people assembled, and the tribes of Israel united.

Since then no prophet has arisen in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,

while I was standing between the Lord and you at that time, to announce to you these words of the Lord, since you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain: The Decalogue.

For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus, himself human,

to that same degree has Jesus [also] become the guarantee of an [even] better covenant.
