Two scoundrels came in and sat opposite Naboth, and the scoundrels accused him in the presence of the people, “Naboth has cursed God and king.” And they led him out of the city and stoned him to death.

Then the Lord said to Moses: This man shall be put to death; let the whole community stone him outside the camp.

They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong.

And when the blood of your witness Stephen was being shed, I myself stood by giving my approval and keeping guard over the cloaks of his murderers.’

And as they were yelling and throwing off their cloaks and flinging dust into the air,

I persecuted this Way to death, binding both men and women and delivering them to prison.

and I did so in Jerusalem. I imprisoned many of the holy ones with the authorization I received from the chief priests, and when they were to be put to death I cast my vote against them.

Then they instigated some men to say, “We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

They presented false witnesses who testified, “This man never stops saying things against [this] holy place and the law.

But they cried out in a loud voice, covered their ears, and rushed upon him together.

Now Saul was consenting to his execution. Persecution of the Church. On that day, there broke out a severe persecution of the church in Jerusalem, and all were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

The hands of the witnesses shall be the first raised to put the person to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. Judges.
