“Oh, no, my lords!” Lot replied to them.

By no means! Just you men go and serve the Lord. After all, that is what you have been asking for.” With that they were driven from Pharaoh’s presence.

“Oh no, Lord God,” I protested. “Never have I defiled myself nor have I eaten carrion flesh or flesh torn by wild beasts, nor from my youth till now has any unclean meat entered my mouth.”

The priests shall not eat anything, whether bird or animal, that died naturally or was killed by wild beasts.

But Daniel was resolved not to defile himself with the king’s food or wine; so he begged the chief chamberlain to spare him this defilement.

You, too, must set apart, then, the clean animals from the unclean, and the clean birds from the unclean, so that you do not make yourselves detestable through any beast or bird or any creature which creeps on the ground that I have set apart for you as unclean.

It is not what enters one’s mouth that defiles that person; but what comes out of the mouth is what defiles one.”

Then Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.”

But the wise ones replied, ‘No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’

And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, “Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”

they observed that some of his disciples ate their meals with unclean, that is, unwashed, hands.

but his mother said in reply, “No. He will be called John.”

[The woman] said to him, “Sir, you do not even have a bucket and the well is deep; where then can you get this living water?

A voice said to him, “Get up, Peter. Slaughter and eat.”

and said to them, “You know that it is unlawful for a Jewish man to associate with, or visit, a Gentile, but God has shown me that I should not call any person profane or unclean.

I replied, ‘Who are you, sir?’ And he said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Nazorean whom you are persecuting.’

He said, “Who are you, sir?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.
