His servants brought his body on a chariot from Megiddo to Jerusalem, where they buried him in his own grave. Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz, son of Josiah, anointed him, and proclaimed him king to succeed his father. Reign of Jehoahaz.

Thereupon all the people of Judah took Azariah, who was only sixteen years old, and made him king to succeed Amaziah, his father.

Thus says the Lord concerning Shallum, son of Josiah, king of Judah, his father’s successor, who left this place: He shall never return,

As for you, raise a lamentation over the princes of Israel,
