Ah! Assyria, the rod of my wrath, the staff I wield in anger.
Go, tell Hezekiah: Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Now I will add fifteen years to your life.
For this I will lament and wail, go barefoot and naked; I will utter lamentation like the jackals, mourning like the ostriches,
For her wound is incurable; it has come even to Judah. It has reached to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.
