Menahem, son of Gadi, came up from Tirzah to Samaria, and struck down Shallum, son of Jabesh, in Samaria. He killed him and reigned in his place.

So Jeroboam’s wife left and went back; when she came to Tirzah and crossed the threshold of her house, the child died.

When Baasha heard of it, he left off fortifying Ramah, and stayed in Tirzah.

In the third year of Asa, king of Judah, Baasha, son of Ahijah, became king of all Israel in Tirzah for twenty-four years.

In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah, king of Judah, Menahem, son of Gadi, became king over Israel for ten years in Samaria.
