So death is at work in us, but life in you.
Yet I consider life of no importance to me, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear witness to the gospel of God’s grace.
We are fools on Christ’s account, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are held in honor, but we in disrepute.
I will most gladly spend and be utterly spent for your sakes. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?
For we rejoice when we are weak but you are strong. What we pray for is your improvement.

because for the sake of the work of Christ he came close to death, risking his life to make up for those services to me that you could not perform.
The way we came to know love was that he laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
