David grew very angry with that man and said to Nathan: “As the Lord lives, the man who has done this deserves death!

But he slandered your servant before my lord the king. But my lord the king is like an angel of God. Do whatever seems good to you.

Let the groaning of the imprisoned come in before you; in accord with the greatness of your arm preserve those doomed to die.

Saul heeded Jonathan’s plea and swore, “As the Lord lives, he shall not be killed.”

What you have done is not right. As the Lord lives, you people deserve death because you have not guarded your lord, the anointed of the Lord. Go, look: where are the king’s spear and the water jug that was at his head?” Saul Admits His Guilt.
