Then Saul realized that the Lord was with David and that his own daughter Michal loved David.

They answered: “We clearly see that the Lord has been with you, so we thought: let there be a sworn agreement between our two sides—between you and us. Let us make a covenant with you:

Laban answered him: “If you will please! I have learned through divination that the Lord has blessed me because of you.”

When his master saw that the Lord was with him and brought him success in whatever he did,

Behold, I will make those of the assembly of Satan who claim to be Jews and are not, but are lying, behold I will make them come and fall prostrate at your feet, and they will realize that I love you.

Now Saul’s daughter Michal loved David. When this was reported to Saul, he was pleased.

David arose and went with his men and slew two hundred Philistines. He brought back their foreskins and counted them out before the king that he might become the king’s son-in-law. So Saul gave him his daughter Michal as wife.

So Saul feared David all the more and was his enemy ever after.

For if someone comes upon an enemy, do they send them graciously on their way? So may the Lord reward you graciously for what you have done this day.

Then Saul said to David: “Blessed are you, my son David! You shall certainly succeed in whatever you undertake.” David went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
