Solomon had twelve governors over all Israel who supplied food for the king and his household, each having to provide for one month in the year.

Solomon had forty thousand stalls for horses for chariots and twelve thousand horsemen.

For the chariot horses and draft animals also, each brought his quota of barley and straw to the required place. Solomon’s Renown.
