When the man saw that he could not prevail over him, he struck Jacob’s hip at its socket, so that Jacob’s socket was dislocated as he wrestled with him.

So Ahab went up to eat and drink, while Elijah went up to the top of Carmel, crouched down to the earth, and put his head between his knees.

And the seventh time the youth reported, “There is a cloud as small as a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Elijah said, “Go and say to Ahab, ‘Harness up and go down the mountain before the rain stops you.’”

He arose, paced up and down the room, and then once more stretched himself over him, and the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

Attend to the sound of my cry, my king and my God! For to you I will pray, Lord;

For the vision is a witness for the appointed time, a testimony to the end; it will not disappoint. If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late.

Then he told them a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said,

Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them?

With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones

with seven priests carrying ram’s horns ahead of the ark. On the seventh day march around the city seven times, and have the priests blow the horns.
