You see those who are wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for fools than for them.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely;

Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and turn away from evil;

So now, children, listen to me, do not stray from the words of my mouth.

He is chasing ashes! A deluded mind has led him astray; He cannot save himself, does not say, “This thing in my right hand—is it not a fraud?”

Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Have the same regard for one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.

Do not be led astray: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.

We are fools on Christ’s account, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are held in honor, but we in disrepute.

Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he is deluding himself.

Make no mistake: God is not mocked, for a person will reap only what he sows,

Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient.

But wicked people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, deceivers and deceived.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deluded, slaves to various desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful ourselves and hating one another.

Be doers of the word and not hearers only, deluding yourselves.

If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, his religion is vain.

If we say, “We are without sin,” we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
