Take care, then, that the light in you not become darkness.

He answered, “See that you not be deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’ Do not follow them!

And when he wanted to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. After his arrival he gave great assistance to those who had come to believe through grace.

Through him we have received the grace of apostleship, to bring about the obedience of faith, for the sake of his name, among all the Gentiles,

For by the grace given to me I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than one ought to think, but to think soberly, each according to the measure of faith that God has apportioned.

But I have written to you rather boldly in some respects to remind you, because of the grace given me by God

Thus I aspire to proclaim the gospel not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on another’s foundation,

for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ.

Although I may not be an apostle for others, certainly I am for you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

We are not boasting beyond measure, in other people’s labors; yet our hope is that, as your faith increases, our influence among you may be greatly enlarged, within our proper limits,

built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone.

For this I labor and struggle, in accord with the exercise of his power working within me.

And tell Archippus, “See that you fulfill the ministry that you received in the Lord.”

and sent Timothy, our brother and co-worker for God in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,

Attend to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in both tasks, for by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.

Be eager to present yourself as acceptable to God, a workman who causes no disgrace, imparting the word of truth without deviation.

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you realize that we will be judged more strictly,

Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Trial of Persecution.

And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, as our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, also wrote to you,

The wall of the city had twelve courses of stones as its foundation, on which were inscribed the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

The foundations of the city wall were decorated with every precious stone; the first course of stones was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
