I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. Man and Woman.

Both were righteous in the eyes of God, observing all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly.

In giving this instruction, I do not praise the fact that your meetings are doing more harm than good.

Do you not have houses in which you can eat and drink? Or do you show contempt for the church of God and make those who have nothing feel ashamed? What can I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this matter I do not praise you. Tradition of the Institution.

Through it you are also being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

For this reason I am sending you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord; he will remind you of my ways in Christ [Jesus], just as I teach them everywhere in every church.

Only, everyone should live as the Lord has assigned, just as God called each one. I give this order in all the churches.

And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great affliction, with joy from the holy Spirit,

But just now Timothy has returned to us from you, bringing us the good news of your faith and love, and that you always think kindly of us and long to see us as we long to see you.

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

We instruct you, brothers, in the name of [our] Lord Jesus Christ, to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us.
