The arms of the wicked will be broken, while the Lord will sustain the righteous.

For the Lord loves justice and does not abandon the faithful. When the unjust are destroyed, and the offspring of the wicked cut off,

For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be [in his day].

So it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

Who are you to pass judgment on someone else’s servant? Before his own master he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Now to him who can strengthen you, according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret for long ages

For creation awaits with eager expectation the revelation of the children of God;

the work of each will come to light, for the Day will disclose it. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire [itself] will test the quality of each one’s work.

you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord.

For we write you nothing but what you can read and understand, and I hope that you will understand completely,

as you have come to understand us partially, that we are your boast as you also are ours, on the day of [our] Lord Jesus.

But the one who gives us security with you in Christ and who anointed us is God;

that he might present to himself the church in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

to discern what is of value, so that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,

I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work in you will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

he has now reconciled in his fleshly body through his death, to present you holy, without blemish, and irreproachable before him,

rooted in him and built upon him and established in the faith as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

so as to strengthen your hearts, to be blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his holy ones. [Amen.]

For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night.

not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed either by a “spirit,” or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.

But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

On this account I am suffering these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know him in whom I have believed and am confident that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day.

May the Lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day. And you know very well the services he rendered in Ephesus.

The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ [Jesus] will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a mighty roar and the elements will be dissolved by fire, and the earth and everything done on it will be found out. Exhortation to Preparedness.

Therefore, beloved, since you await these things, be eager to be found without spot or blemish before him, at peace.
