At that time the people of Israel were divided in two, half following Tibni, son of Ginath, to make him king, and half for Omri.

As for you, do not be called ‘Rabbi.’ You have but one teacher, and you are all brothers.

Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter).

A Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, an eloquent speaker, arrived in Ephesus. He was an authority on the scriptures.

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior of the country and came [down] to Ephesus where he found some disciples.

For it has been reported to me about you, my brothers, by Chloe’s people, that there are rivalries among you.

that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.

This I declare, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

Now in regard to our brother Apollos, I urged him strongly to go to you with the brothers, but it was not at all his will that he go now. He will go when he has an opportunity. Exhortation and Greetings.

I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written, so that none of you will be inflated with pride in favor of one person over against another.

I tell you, brothers, the time is running out. From now on, let those having wives act as not having them,

Do we not have the right to take along a Christian wife, as do the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?

Look at what confronts you. Whoever is confident of belonging to Christ should consider that as he belongs to Christ, so do we.

Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

and when they recognized the grace bestowed upon me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave me and Barnabas their right hands in partnership, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

This is what I mean: the law, which came four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to cancel the promise.
