Then Boazsaidto the eldersand allthe people,"You are witnessestodaythat I have boughtfrom the handof Naomiallthat belonged to Elimelechand allthat belonged to Chilionand Mahlon.
"No,my lord,hearme; I giveyou the field,and I giveyou the cavethat is in it. In the presenceof the sonsof my peopleI giveit to you; buryyour dead."
The nameof the man[was] Elimelech,and the nameof his wife,Naomi;and the namesof his twosons[were] Mahlonand Chilion,Ephrathitesof Bethlehemin Judah.Now they enteredthe landof Moaband remainedthere.
"Moreover,I have acquiredRuththe Moabitess,the widowof Mahlon,to be my wifein order to raiseup the nameof the deceasedon his inheritance,so that the nameof the deceasedwill not be cutofffrom his brothersor from the courtof his [birth] place;you are witnessestoday."
So the closestrelativesaidto Boaz,"Buy[it] for yourself." And he removedhis sandal.
