The nightis almost gone,and the dayis near.Thereforelet us lay asidethe deedsof darknessand puton the armorof light.
"Untilthe coolof the daywhen the shadowsfleeaway, Turn,my beloved,and be likea gazelleOra youngstagon the mountainsof Bether."
In that daymenwill castawayto the molesand the batsTheir idolsof silverand their idolsof gold,Whichthey madefor themselves to worship,
And you will defileyour gravenimagesoverlaidwith silver,and your moltenimagesplatedwith gold.You will scatterthem as an impurething,[and] sayto them, "Be gone!"
But puton the LordJesusChrist,and makenoprovisionfor the fleshin regardto [its] lusts.
Nowthese thingshappenedto them as an example,and they were writtenfor our instruction,upon whomthe endsof the ageshave come.
But thisI say,brethren,the timehas beenshortened,sothat from nowon thosewho havewivesshould be as thoughthey hadnone;
for the weaponsof our warfareare not of the flesh,but divinelypowerfulfor the destructionof fortresses.
in the wordof truth,in the powerof God;by the weaponsof righteousnessfor the right handand the left,
that, in referenceto your formermanner of life,you lay asidethe oldself,which is being corruptedin accordancewith the lustsof deceit,
Do not participatein the unfruitfuldeedsof darkness,but insteadevenexposethem;
for you were formerlydarkness,but nowyou are Lightin the Lord;walkas childrenof Light
not forsakingour ownassembling together,as is the habitof some,but encouraging[one another]; and allthe moreas you seethe daydrawing near.
Therefore,since we haveso greata cloudof witnessessurroundingus, let us alsolay asideeveryencumbranceand the sinwhich so easily entanglesus, and let us runwith endurancethe racethat is set beforeus,
Therefore,putting asideallfilthinessand [all] that remainsof wickedness,in humilityreceivethe wordimplanted,which is ableto saveyour souls.
You toobe patient;strengthenyour hearts,for the comingof the Lordis near.
Therefore,putting asideallmaliceand alldeceitand hypocrisyand envyand allslander,
The endof all thingsis near;therefore,be of sound judgmentand sober[spirit] for the purpose of prayer.
Since allthese thingsare to be destroyedin this way,what sortof people oughtyou to be in holyconductand godliness,
The Lordis not slowabout His promise,as somecountslowness,but is patienttowardyou, not wishingfor anyto perishbut for allto cometo repentance.
Children,it is the lasthour;and justas you heardthat antichristis coming,evennowmanyantichristshave appeared;from thiswe knowthat it is the lasthour.
Blessedis he who readsand thosewho hearthe wordsof the prophecy,and heedthe things which are writtenin it; for the timeis near.
And he saidto me, "Do not sealup the wordsof the prophecyof thisbook,for the timeis near.
