By the transgressionof a landmanyare its princes,But by a manof understanding[and] knowledge,soit endures.
Now Nadabthe sonof JeroboambecamekingoverIsraelin the secondyearof Asakingof Judah,and he reignedoverIsraeltwoyears.
So Baashakilledhim in the thirdyearof Asakingof Judahand reignedin his place.
By the blessingof the uprighta cityis exalted,But by the mouthof the wickedit is torndown.
But there was foundin it a poorwisemanand he deliveredthe cityby his wisdom.Yet noonerememberedthat poorman.
"Those from among you will rebuildthe ancientruins;You will raiseup the age-oldfoundations;And you will be calledthe repairerof the breach,The restorerof the streetsin which to dwell.
Therefore,O king,may my advicebe pleasingto you: breakawaynow from your sinsby [doing] righteousnessand from your iniquitiesby showingmercyto [the] poor,in casethere may be a prolongingof your prosperity.'
I gaveyou a kingin My angerAnd tookhim away in My wrath.
