Hopedeferredmakesthe heartsick,But desirefulfilledis a treeof life.
Then Israelsaidto Joseph,"Nowlet me die,sinceI have seenyour face,that you are stillalive."
So the kingsaidto me, "Whyis your facesadthough you are not sick?Thisis nothingbut sadnessof heart."Then I was verymuchafraid.
Answerme quickly,O LORD,my spiritfails;Do not hideYour facefrom me, Or I will becomelikethose who godownto the pit.
As for me, I shall beholdYour facein righteousness;I will be satisfiedwith Your likenesswhen I awake.
I am wearywith my crying;my throatis parched;My eyesfailwhile I waitfor my God.
The fruitof the righteousis a treeof life,And he who is wisewinssouls.
Wealth[obtained] by frauddwindles,But the one who gathersby laborincreases[it].
The one who despisesthe wordwill be in debtto it, But the one who fearsthe commandmentwill be rewarded.
Desirerealizedis sweetto the soul,But it is an abominationto foolsto turnawayfrom evil.
She is a treeof lifeto those who takeholdof her, And happyare all who holdher fast.
"I adjureyou, O daughtersof Jerusalem,Ifyou findmy beloved,As to whatyou will tellhim: For I am lovesick."
