Then the LORDspoketo Mosesand to Aaron,saying,
The sonsof Levi:Gershon,Kohath,and Merari.
"And behold,I Myselfhave appointedwith him Oholiab,the sonof Ahisamach,of the tribeof Dan;and in the heartsof allwhoare skillfulI have putskill,that they may makeallthat I have commandedyou:
"Yet they shall be ministersin My sanctuary,having oversightat the gatesof the houseand ministeringin the house;they shall slaughterthe burntofferingand the sacrificefor the people,and they shall standbeforethem to ministerto them.
"So when the tabernacleis to setout, the Levitesshall takeit down;and when the tabernacleencamps,the Levitesshall setit up. But the laymanwho comesnearshall be putto death.
Then Mosesgavethe ransommoneyto Aaronand to his sons,at the commandof the LORD,justas the LORDhad commandedMoses.
"Takea censusof the descendantsof Kohathfrom amongthe sonsof Levi,by their families,by their fathers'households,
