"You shall thus givethe Levitesto Aaronand to his sons;they are whollygivento him from among the sonsof Israel.
ThenDavidsaid,"Noone is to carrythe arkof Godbut the Levites;for the LORDchosethem to carrythe arkof Godand to ministerto Him forever."
Theseare those who servedwith their sons:From the sonsof the Kohathites[were] Hemanthe singer,the sonof Joel,the sonof Samuel,
The templeservants:the sonsof Ziha,the sonsof Hasupha,the sonsof Tabbaoth,
Then they appointedthe prieststo their divisionsand the Levitesin their ordersfor the serviceof Godin Jerusalem,as it is writtenin the bookof Moses.
and 220of the templeservants,whomDavidand the princeshad givenfor the serviceof the Levites,allof them designatedby name.
is it not enoughfor you that the Godof Israelhas separatedyou from the [rest of] the congregationof Israel,to bringyou nearto Himself, to dothe serviceof the tabernacleof the LORD,and to standbeforethe congregationto ministerto them;
"But bringwith you alsoyour brothers,the tribeof Levi,the tribeof your father,that they may be joinedwith you and serveyou, while you and your sonswith you are beforethe tentof the testimony.
"They shall also keepallthe furnishingsof the tentof meeting,along with the dutiesof the sonsof Israel,to dothe serviceof the tabernacle.
"Thus you shall separatethe Levitesfrom amongthe sonsof Israel,and the Levitesshall be Mine.
for they are whollygivento Me from amongthe sonsof Israel.I have takenthem for Myself insteadof everyfirstissueof the womb,the firstbornof allthe sonsof Israel.
"But I have takenthe Levitesinsteadof everyfirstbornamong the sonsof Israel.
"I have giventhe Levitesas a giftto Aaronand to his sonsfrom amongthe sonsof Israel,to performthe serviceof the sonsof Israelat the tentof meetingand to makeatonementon behalfof the sonsof Israel,so that there will be noplagueamong the sonsof Israelby their comingnearto the sanctuary."
And He gavesome[as] apostles,and some[as] prophets,and some[as] evangelists,and some[as] pastorsand teachers,
Thereforeit says,"WHEN HE ASCENDEDON HIGH,HE LED CAPTIVEA HOST OF CAPTIVES,AND HE GAVEGIFTSTO MEN."
