Then Ezrathe priestbroughtthe lawbeforethe assemblyof men,womenand allwho [could] listenwith understanding,on the firstdayof the seventhmonth.
He readfrom it beforethe squarewhichwas in frontof the WaterGatefrom earlymorninguntilmidday,in the presenceof menand women,those who could understand;and allthe peoplewere attentiveto the bookof the law.
For sevendaysyou shall presentan offeringby fireto the LORD.On the eighthdayyou shall havea holyconvocationand presentan offeringby fireto the LORD;it is an assembly.You shall donolaboriouswork.
You shall thus celebrateit [as] a feastto the LORDfor sevendaysin the year.It [shall be] a perpetualstatutethroughout your generations;you shall celebrateit in the seventhmonth.
On the eighthdayyou shall havea solemnassembly;you shall donolaboriouswork.
Nowon the lastday,the great[day] of the feast,Jesusstoodand criedout, saying,"Ifanyoneis thirsty,let him cometo Me and drink.
