ThenJesusarrivedfrom Galileeat the Jordan[coming] to John,to be baptizedby him.
But when he heardthat Archelauswas reigningover Judeain placeof his fatherHerod,he was afraidto gothere.Thenafter being warned[by God] in a dream,he leftfor the regionsof Galilee,
But Johntried to preventHim, saying,"I haveneedto be baptizedby You, and do You cometo me?"
and they were being baptizedby him in the JordanRiver,as they confessedtheir sins.
"I did not recognizeHim, but sothat He might be manifestedto Israel,I camebaptizingin water."
