Now when eveningcameDavidarosefrom his bedand walkedaroundon the roofof the king'shouse,and from the roofhe sawa womanbathing;and the womanwas verybeautifulin appearance.
Satanansweredthe LORDand said,"Skinfor skin!Yes, allthat a manhas he will givefor his life.
"WhatI tellyou in the darkness,speakin the light;and whatyou hear[whispered] in [your] ear,proclaimupon the housetops.
thenthosewhoare in Judeamust fleeto the mountains.
"Whoeveris in the fieldmust not turnbackto gethis cloak.
"For thisreasonI sayto you, do not be worriedaboutyour life,[as to] whatyou will eatorwhatyou will drink;norfor your body,[as to] whatyou will puton. Is not lifemorethan food,and the bodymorethan clothing?
"Accordingly,whateveryou have saidin the darkwill be heardin the light,and whatyou have whisperedin the inner roomswill be proclaimedupon the housetops.
But not findingany[way] to bringhim in becauseof the crowd,they wentup on the roofand let him downthroughthe tileswith his stretcher,into the middle[of the crowd], in frontof Jesus.
On the next day,as they were on their wayand approachingthe city,Peterwentup on the housetopaboutthe sixthhourto pray.
"Whenyou builda newhouse,you shall makea parapetfor your roof,so that you will not bringbloodguilton your houseifanyonefallsfrom it.
When they camedownfrom the highplaceinto the city,[Samuel] spokewith Saulon the roof.
