But Jesusperceivedtheir malice,and said,"Whyare you testingMe, you hypocrites?
But Jesus,awareof [this], withdrewfrom there.ManyfollowedHim, and He healedthem all,
[Some] Phariseescameto Jesus, testingHim and asking,"Is it lawful[for a man] to divorcehis wifefor anyreasonat all?"
"Tellus then,whatdo You think?Is it lawfulto givea poll-taxto Caesar,ornot?"
"ShowMe the coin[used] for the poll-tax."And they broughtHim a denarius.
"And he sentanother,and that onethey killed;and [so with] manyothers,beatingsomeand killingothers.
ImmediatelyJesus,awarein His spiritthat they were reasoningthat waywithinthemselves,saidto them, "Whyare you reasoningabout these thingsin your hearts?
And a lawyerstoodup and put Him to the test,saying,"Teacher,whatshall I doto inheriteternallife?"
But He detectedtheir trickeryand saidto them,
But Jesus,awareof their reasonings,answeredand saidto them, "Whyare you reasoningin your hearts?
But Jesus,knowingwhat they were thinkingin their heart,tooka childand stoodhim by His side,
and becauseHe did not needanyoneto testifyconcerningman,for He Himselfknewwhatwas in man.
They were sayingthis,testingHim, sothat they might havegrounds for accusingHim. But Jesusstoopeddownand with His fingerwroteon the ground.
ThenPeter[said] to her, "Whyis it that you have agreed togetherto putthe Spiritof the Lordto the test?Behold,the feetof thosewho have buriedyour husbandare at the door,and they will carryyou out [as well]."
And I will killher childrenwith pestilence,and allthe churcheswill knowthat I amHe who searchesthe mindsand hearts;and I will giveto each oneof you accordingto your deeds.
