When they soughtto seizeHim, they fearedthe people,becausethey consideredHim to be a prophet.
A scofferdoes not loveone who reproveshim, He will not goto the wise.
Woe,O Ariel,Arielthe city[where] David[once] camped!Addyearto year,observe[your] feastson schedule.
And the crowdswere saying,"Thisis the prophetJesus,from Nazarethin Galilee."
"But ifwe say,'From men,'we fearthe people;for they allregardJohnas a prophet."
When the chief priestsand the PhariseesheardHis parables,they understoodthat He was speakingaboutthem.
Jesusspoketo them againin parables,saying,
The chief priestsand the scribesheard[this], and [began] seekinghowto destroyHim; for they were afraidof Him, for the wholecrowdwas astonishedat His teaching.
Feargrippedthem all,and they [began] glorifyingGod,saying,"A greatprophethas arisenamongus!" and, "Godhas visitedHis people!"
Nowwhen the Phariseewho had invitedHim sawthis, he saidto himself,"Ifthis manwere a prophetHe would knowwhoand what sort of personthiswomanis whois touchingHim, that she is a sinner."
Sothey were seekingto seizeHim; and no manlaidhis handon Him, becauseHis hourhad not yetcome.
