Rouseyourself!Rouseyourself!Arise,O Jerusalem,You whohave drunkfrom the LORD'Shandthe cupof His anger;The chaliceof reelingyou have drainedto the dregs.
Thussaysyour Lord,the LORD,even your GodWho contendsfor His people,"Behold,I have takenout of your handthe cupof reeling,The chaliceof My anger;You will neverdrinkit again.
For thussaysthe LORD,"Behold,those whowere not sentencedto drinkthe cupwill certainlydrink[it], and are you the onewho will be completelyacquitted?You will not be acquitted,but you will certainlydrink[it].
Petersaidto Him, "Even ifI haveto diewith You, I will not denyYou." Allthe disciplessaidthe same thingtoo.
And He wenta littlebeyond[them], and fellon His faceand prayed,saying,"My Father,ifit is possible,let thiscuppassfrom Me; yetnot as I will,but as You will."
He went awayagaina second timeand prayed,saying,"My Father,ifthiscannotpass awayunlessI drinkit, Your willbe done."
"But allthishas taken placeto fulfillthe Scripturesof the prophets."Thenallthe disciplesleftHim and fled.
And He was saying,"Abba!Father!All thingsare possiblefor You; removethiscupfrom Me; yetnot whatI will,but whatYou will."
"But I havea baptismto undergo,and howdistressedI am untilit is accomplished!
saying,"Father,ifYou are willing,removethiscupfrom Me; yetnot My will,but Yoursbe done."
SoJesussaidto Peter,"Putthe swordinto the sheath;the cupwhichthe Fatherhas givenMe, shall I not drinkit?"
In the same waythe Spiritalsohelpsour weakness;for we do not knowhowto prayas we should,but the SpiritHimselfintercedesfor [us] with groaningstoo deep for words;
You askand do not receive,becauseyou askwith wrong motives,sothat you may spend[it] on your pleasures.
