He remainedthereuntilthe deathof Herod.[This was] to fulfillwhathad been spokenby the Lordthroughthe prophet:"OUT OF EGYPTI CALLEDMY SON."
WhenIsrael[was] a youthI lovedhim, And out of EgyptI calledMy son.
"Then you shall sayto Pharaoh,'Thussaysthe LORD,"Israelis My son,My firstborn.
"Godbringshim out of Egypt,He is for him like the hornsof the wildox.He will devourthe nations[who are] his adversaries,And will crushtheir bonesin pieces, And shatter[them] with his arrows.
NowHe saidto them, "Theseare My wordswhichI spoketo you while I was stillwith you, that all thingswhich are writtenaboutMe in the Lawof Mosesand the Prophetsand the Psalmsmustbe fulfilled."
Nowallthistook placeto fulfillwhatwas spokenby the Lordthroughthe prophet:
"Howthenwill the Scripturesbe fulfilled,[which say] that it musthappenthis way?"
Thistook placeto fulfillwhatwas spokenthroughthe prophet:
[This was] to fulfillwhatwas spokenthroughIsaiahthe prophet:"HE HIMSELFTOOKOUR INFIRMITIESAND CARRIED AWAYOUR DISEASES."
and cameand livedin a citycalledNazareth.[This was] to fulfillwhatwas spokenthroughthe prophets:"He shall be calleda Nazarene."
But when Heroddied,behold,an angelof the Lordappearedin a dreamto Josephin Egypt,and said,
Thenwhathad been spokenthroughJeremiahthe prophetwas fulfilled:
For these thingscame to passto fulfillthe Scripture,"NOT A BONEOF HIM SHALL BE BROKEN."
Afterthis,Jesus,knowingthat all thingshad alreadybeen accomplished,to fulfillthe Scripture,said,"I am thirsty."
"But allthishas taken placeto fulfillthe Scripturesof the prophets."Thenallthe disciplesleftHim and fled.
"Brethren,the Scripturehadto be fulfilled,whichthe HolySpiritforetoldby the mouthof DavidconcerningJudas,who becamea guideto thosewho arrestedJesus.
And when they had crucifiedHim, they dividedup His garmentsamongthemselves by castinglots.
SoJoseph gotup and tookthe Childand His motherwhile it was still night,and leftfor Egypt.
