He saidto His disciples,"It is inevitablethat stumbling blockscome,but woeto him throughwhomthey come!
For there mustalsobe factionsamongyou, sothat thosewho are approvedmay becomeevidentamongyou.
"The Sonof Man[is to] go,justas it is writtenof Him; but woeto that manby whomthe Sonof Manis betrayed!It would have beengoodfor that manifhe had not been born."
For certainpersonshave crept in unnoticed,thosewho were longbeforehand markedout for thiscondemnation,ungodly personswho turnthe graceof our Godinto licentiousnessand denyour onlyMasterand Lord,JesusChrist.
sound[in] speechwhich is beyond reproach,sothat the opponentwill be put to shame,havingnothingbadto sayaboutus.
[to be] sensible,pure,workers at home,kind,being subjectto their ownhusbands,sothat the wordof Godwill not be dishonored.
All whoare underthe yokeas slavesare to regardtheir ownmastersas worthyof allhonorsothat the nameof Godand [our] doctrinewill not be spoken against.
"Brethren,the Scripturehadto be fulfilled,whichthe HolySpiritforetoldby the mouthof DavidconcerningJudas,who becamea guideto thosewho arrestedJesus.
"WhileI was with them, I was keepingthem in Your namewhichYou have givenMe; and I guardedthem and not oneof them perishedbut the sonof perdition,sothat the Scripturewould be fulfilled.
"Whenyou hearof warsand rumorsof wars,do not be frightened;[those things] musttake place;but [that is] not yetthe end.
"However,becauseby thisdeedyou have givenoccasion to the enemiesof the LORDto blaspheme,the childalsothat is bornto you shall surelydie."
Thus the sinof the youngmenwas verygreatbeforethe LORD,for the mendespisedthe offeringof the LORD.
And there was strifebetweenthe herdsmenof Abram'slivestockand the herdsmenof Lot'slivestock.Now the Canaaniteand the Perizzitewere dwellingthenin the land.
But He turnedand saidto Peter,"GetbehindMe, Satan!You are a stumbling blockto Me; for you are not setting your mindon God'sinterests, but man's."
