And a man[was there] whose handwas withered.And they questionedJesus, asking,"Is it lawfulto healon the Sabbath?"--sothat they might accuseHim.
But the synagogue official,indignantbecauseJesushad healedon the Sabbath,[began] sayingto the crowdin response,"There are sixdaysin whichworkshouldbe done;socomeduringthem and get healed,and not on the Sabbathday."
Thereforesomeof the Phariseeswere saying,"Thismanis not from God,becauseHe does not keepthe Sabbath."But otherswere saying,"Howcana manwho is a sinnerperformsuchsigns?"And there was a divisionamongthem.
They were sayingthis,testingHim, sothat they might havegrounds for accusingHim. But Jesusstoopeddownand with His fingerwroteon the ground.
Sothe Jewswere sayingto the man who was cured,"It is the Sabbath,and it is not permissiblefor you to carryyour pallet."
plotting againstHim to catch[Him] in somethingHe might say.
But when the Phariseessaw[this], they saidto Him, "Look,Your disciplesdowhatis not lawfulto doon a Sabbath."
"Woeto the worthlessshepherdWho leavesthe flock!A swordwill be on his armAnd on his righteye!His armwill be totallywitheredAnd his righteyewill be blind."
For a foolspeaksnonsense,And his heartinclinestoward wickedness:To practiceungodlinessand to speakerroragainstthe LORD,To keepthe hungrypersonunsatisfiedAnd to withholddrinkfrom the thirsty.
In theselaya multitudeof thosewho were sick,blind,lame,and withered,[waitingfor the movingof the waters;
And they beganto accuseHim, saying,"We foundthis manmisleadingour nationand forbiddingto paytaxesto Caesar,and sayingthat He Himselfis Christ,a King."
and saidto them, "You broughtthismanto me as one who incitesthe peopleto rebellion,and behold,having examinedHim beforeyou, I have foundnoguiltin thismanregarding the chargeswhichyou makeagainstHim.
"Is it lawfulfor us to paytaxesto Caesar,ornot?"
[Some] Phariseescameto Jesus, testingHim and asking,"Is it lawful[for a man] to divorcehis wifefor anyreasonat all?"
Transgressingand denyingthe LORD,And turningawayfrom our God,Speakingoppressionand revolt,Conceiving[in] and utteringfrom the heartlyingwords.
Noonesuesrighteouslyand noonepleadshonestly.They trustin confusionand speaklies;They conceivemischiefand bringforthiniquity.
They were watchingHim [to see] ifHe would healhim on the Sabbath,sothat they might accuseHim.
"Ifa manreceivescircumcisionon [the] Sabbathsothat the Lawof Moseswill not be broken,are you angrywith Me becauseI madean entiremanwellon [the] Sabbath?
