and shoutingwith a loudvoice,he said,"Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Jesus,Sonof the Most HighGod?I imploreYou by God,do not tormentme!"
And I will putenmityBetweenyou and the woman,And betweenyour seedand her seed;He shall bruiseyou on the head,And you shall bruisehim on the heel."
Then the kingsaidto him, "Howmanytimesmust I adjureyou to speakto me nothingbut the truthin the nameof the LORD?"
O Ephraim,whatmorehave I to do with idols?It is I who answerand lookafter you. I am like a luxuriantcypress;From Me comesyour fruit.
SimonPeteranswered,"You are the Christ,the Sonof the livingGod."
But Jesuskept silent.And the high priestsaidto Him, "I adjureYou by the livingGod,that You tellus whetherYou are the Christ,the Sonof God."
And the temptercameand saidto Him, "IfYou are the Sonof God,commandthat thesestonesbecomebread."
And they criedout, saying,"Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Sonof God?Have You comehereto tormentus beforethe time?"
saying,"Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Jesusof Nazareth?Have You cometo destroyus? I knowwhoYou are-- the Holy Oneof God!"
But He kept silentand did not answer.Againthe high priestwas questioningHim, and sayingto Him, "Are You the Christ,the Sonof the Blessed[One]?"
Wheneverthe uncleanspiritssawHim, they would fall down beforeHim and shout,"You are the Sonof God!"
SeeingJesusfrom a distance,he ranup and bowed down beforeHim;
For He had been sayingto him, "Comeout of the man,you uncleanspirit!"
"He will be greatand will be calledthe Sonof the Most High;and the LordGodwill giveHim the throneof His fatherDavid;
"Let us alone!Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Jesusof Nazareth?Have You cometo destroyus? I knowwhoYou are-- the Holy Oneof God!"
"But loveyour enemies,and do good,and lend,expectingnothingin return;and your rewardwill be great,and you will be sonsof the Most High;for He Himselfis kindto ungratefuland evil[men].
SeeingJesus,he criedout and fell beforeHim, and saidin a loudvoice,"Whatbusiness do we have with each other, Jesus,Sonof the Most HighGod?I begYou, do not tormentme."
but thesehave been writtensothat you may believethat Jesusis the Christ,the Sonof God;and that believingyou may havelifein His name.
