"Other[seed] fellamongthe thorns,and the thornscameup and chokedit, and it yieldednocrop.
For thussaysthe LORDto the menof Judahand to Jerusalem,"Breakup your fallowground,And do not sowamongthorns.
"And the one on whom seed was sownamongthe thorns,thisis the man who hearsthe word,and the worryof the worldand the deceitfulnessof wealthchokethe word,and it becomesunfruitful.
"Othersfellamongthe thorns,and the thornscameup and chokedthem out.
"And othersfellon the goodsoiland yieldeda crop,somea hundredfold,somesixty,and somethirty.
"And afterthe sunhad risen,it was scorched;and becauseit hadnoroot,it withered away.
"Other[seeds] fellinto the goodsoil,and as they grewup and increased,they yieldeda cropand producedthirty,sixty,and a hundredfold."
ThenHe saidto them, "Beware,and be on your guardagainstevery formof greed;for not [even] whenonehas an abundancedoes his lifeconsistof his possessions."
"Be on guard,sothat your heartswill not be weighted downwith dissipationand drunkennessand the worriesof life,and that daywill not comeon you suddenlylikea trap;
"The [seed] which fellamongthe thorns,theseare the ones who have heard,and as they go on their waythey are chokedwith worriesand richesand pleasuresof [this] life,and bringnofruit to maturity.
"Other[seed] fellamongthe thorns;and the thornsgrewup with it and chokedit out.
