"Theseare the ones whoare besidethe roadwherethe wordis sown;and whenthey hear,immediatelySatancomesand takes awaythe wordwhich has been sownin them.
Be of sober[spirit], be on the alert.Your adversary,the devil,prowls aroundlikea roaringlion,seekingsomeoneto devour.
"When anyonehearsthe wordof the kingdomand does not understandit, the evil[one] comesand snatches awaywhathas been sownin his heart.Thisis the one on whom seed was sownbesidethe road.
sothat noadvantage would be takenof us by Satan,for we are not ignorantof his schemes.
"Thosebesidethe roadare thosewho have heard;thenthe devilcomesand takes awaythe wordfrom their heart,sothat they will not believeand be saved.
as he was sowing,some[seed] fellbesidethe road,and the birdscameand ateit up.
But Petersaid,"Ananias,whyhas Satanfilledyour heartto lieto the HolySpiritand to keep back[some] of the priceof the land?
Whohas believedour message?And to whomhas the armof the LORDbeen revealed?
And the devilwho deceivedthem was throwninto the lakeof fireand brimstone,wherethe beastand the false prophetare also;and they will be tormenteddayand nightforeverand ever.
Whenthe thousandyearsare completed,Satanwill be releasedfrom his prison,
For thisreasonwe mustpaymuch closerattentionto what we have heard,sothat we do not drift away[from it].
[that is], the one whosecomingis in accordwith the activityof Satan,with allpowerand signsand false wonders,
"But they paid no attentionand went their way,oneto his ownfarm,anotherto his business,
And the greatdragonwas throwndown, the serpentof oldwho is calledthe deviland Satan,who deceivesthe wholeworld;he was throwndown to the earth,and his angelswere throwndown with him.
ThenJesussaidto him, "Go,Satan!For it is written,YOU SHALL WORSHIPTHE LORDYOUR GOD,AND SERVEHIM ONLY.'"
Then he showedme Joshuathe highprieststandingbeforethe angelof the LORD,and Satanstandingat his righthandto accusehim.
Lotwentout and spoketo his sons-in-law,who were to marryhis daughters,and said,"Up, getout of thisplace,for the LORDwill destroythe city."But he appearedto his sons-in-lawto be jesting.

Nowwhen they heardof the resurrectionof the dead,some[began] to sneer,but otherssaid,"We shall hearyou againconcerningthis."
