"Whenyou hearof warsand rumorsof wars,do not be frightened;[those things] musttake place;but [that is] not yetthe end.
"For we will surelydieand are like waterspilledon the groundwhichcannotbe gatheredup again. Yet Goddoes not takeaway life,but planswaysso that the banishedonewill not be castout from him.
He will not feareviltidings;His heartis steadfast,trustingin the LORD.
Thougha hostencampagainstme, My heartwill not fear;Thoughwarariseagainstme, In [spite of] thisI shall be confident.
Do not be afraidof suddenfearNorof the onslaughtof the wickedwhenit comes;
"You are not to say,[It is] a conspiracy!'In regard to allthat thispeoplecalla conspiracy,And you are not to fearwhatthey fearor be in dreadof [it].
"Now sothat your heartdoes not growfaint,And you are not afraidat the reportthat [will be] heardin the land--For the reportwill comeone year,And afterthat another reportin another year,And violence[will be] in the landWith ruleragainstruler--
"Woeto the worldbecauseof [its] stumblingblocks!For it is inevitablethat stumbling blockscome;but woeto that manthroughwhomthe stumbling blockcomes!
When Herodthe kingheard[this], he was troubled,and allJerusalemwith him.
"Manywill comein My name,saying,I am[He!]' and will misleadmany.
"For nationwill riseup againstnation,and kingdomagainstkingdom;there will be earthquakesin variousplaces;there will [also] be famines.These thingsare [merely] the beginningof birth pangs.
"Do not let your heartbe troubled;believein God,believealsoin Me.
"PeaceI leavewith you; My peaceI giveto you; not as the worldgivesdo I giveto you. Do not let your heartbe troubled,norlet it be fearful.
