Pilatesummonedthe chief priestsand the rulersand the people,
But Pilatesaidto them, "Why,whatevilhas He done?"But they shoutedall the more,"CrucifyHim!"
And the peoplestoodby, lookingon. And eventhe rulerswere sneeringat Him, saying,"He savedothers;let Him saveHimselfifthisis the Christof God,His Chosen One."
and howthe chief priestsand our rulersdeliveredHim to the sentenceof death,and crucifiedHim.
Neverthelessmanyevenof the rulersbelievedin Him, but becauseof the Phariseesthey were not confessing[Him], for fearthat they would be put out of the synagogue;
Pilatesaidto Him, "Whatis truth?"And when he had saidthis,he wentout againto the Jewsand saidto them, "I findnoguiltin Him.
Pilatecameout againand saidto them, "Behold,I am bringingHim out to you sothat you may knowthat I findnoguiltin Him."
Nowthere was a manof the Pharisees,namedNicodemus,a rulerof the Jews;
"Look,He is speakingpublicly,and they are sayingnothingto Him. The rulersdo not reallyknowthat thisis the Christ,do they?
"Nooneof the rulersorPhariseeshas believedin Him, has he?
"For thosewho livein Jerusalem,and their rulers,recognizingneither Him northe utterancesof the prophetswhich are readeverySabbath,fulfilled[these] by condemning[Him].
"And now,brethren,I knowthat you actedin ignorance,justas your rulersdid also.
On the next day,their rulersand eldersand scribeswere gathered togetherin Jerusalem;
ThenPeter,filledwith the HolySpirit,saidto them, "Rulersand eldersof the people,
