saying,"Father,ifYou are willing,removethiscupfrom Me; yetnot My will,but Yoursbe done."
And He wenta littlebeyond[them], and fellon His faceand prayed,saying,"My Father,ifit is possible,let thiscuppassfrom Me; yetnot as I will,but as You will."
He went awayagaina second timeand prayed,saying,"My Father,ifthiscannotpass awayunlessI drinkit, Your willbe done."
And He was saying,"Abba!Father!All thingsare possiblefor You; removethiscupfrom Me; yetnot whatI will,but whatYou will."
I delightto doYour will,O my God;Your Lawis withinmy heart."
SoJesussaidto Peter,"Putthe swordinto the sheath;the cupwhichthe Fatherhas givenMe, shall I not drinkit?"
But Jesusanswered,"You do not knowwhatyou are asking.Are you ableto drinkthe cupthat I am aboutto drink?"They saidto Him, "We are able."
"I candonothingon My own initiative.As I hear,I judge;and My judgmentis just,becauseI do not seekMy ownwill,but the willof Him who sentMe.
"For I have come downfrom heaven,not to doMy ownwill,but the willof Him who sentMe.
Jesussaidto them, "My foodis to dothe willof Him who sentMe and to accomplishHis work.
Thussaysyour Lord,the LORD,even your GodWho contendsfor His people,"Behold,I have takenout of your handthe cupof reeling,The chaliceof My anger;You will neverdrinkit again.
And He leftthem again,and went awayand prayeda third time,sayingthe samethingonce more.
For thusthe LORD,the Godof Israel,saysto me, "Takethiscupof the wineof wrathfrom My handand cause allthe nationsto whomI sendyou to drinkit.
Rouseyourself!Rouseyourself!Arise,O Jerusalem,You whohave drunkfrom the LORD'Shandthe cupof His anger;The chaliceof reelingyou have drainedto the dregs.
Your kingdomcome.Your willbe done,On earthas it is in heaven.
At that timeJesussaid,"I praiseYou, Father,Lordof heavenand earth,that You have hiddenthese thingsfrom [the] wiseand intelligentand have revealedthem to infants.
"Yes,Father,for this waywas well-pleasingin Your sight.
But Jesuswas saying,"Father,forgivethem; for they do not knowwhatthey are doing."And they castlots,dividingup His garmentsamongthemselves.
And since he would not be persuaded,we fell silent,remarking,"The willof the Lordbe done!"
