"The Lawand the Prophets[were proclaimed] untilJohn;sincethat timethe gospelof the kingdomof Godhas been preached,and everyoneis forcing his wayinto it.
"For Johncameto you in the wayof righteousnessand you did not believehim; but the tax collectorsand prostitutesdid believehim; and you, seeing[this], did not evenfeel remorseafterwardso as to believehim.
PhilipfoundNathanaeland saidto him, "We have foundHim of whomMosesin the Lawand [also] the Prophetswrote--Jesusof Nazareth,the sonof Joseph."
"But he saidto him, 'Ifthey do not listento Mosesand the Prophets,they will not be persuadedevenifsomeonerisesfrom the dead.'"
"Repent,for the kingdomof heavenis at hand."
"But the things whichGodannounced beforehandby the mouthof allthe prophets,that His Christwould suffer,He has thusfulfilled.
"But Abrahamsaid,'They haveMosesand the Prophets;let them hearthem.'
Eventhe dustof your citywhich clingsto our feetwe wipe off[in protest] against you; yetbe sureof this,that the kingdomof Godhas come near.'
and healthosein it who are sick,and sayto them, 'The kingdomof Godhas come nearto you.'
From that timeJesusbeganto preachand say,"Repent,for the kingdomof heavenis at hand."
And He sentthem out to proclaimthe kingdomof Godand to perform healing.
Now afterJohnhad been taken into custody,Jesuscameinto Galilee,preachingthe gospelof God,
"And as you go,preach,saying,The kingdomof heavenis at hand.'
Sothe Phariseessaidto one another,"You seethat you are not doinganygood;look,the worldhas goneafterHim."
"Ifwe letHim [go on] like this,all menwill believein Him, and the Romanswill comeand take awaybothour placeand our nation."
But he wentout and beganto proclaimit freelyand to spreadthe newsaround,to such an extentthat Jesus couldno longerpubliclyentera city,but stayedout in unpopulatedareas;and they were comingto Him from everywhere.
Jesus was going throughoutallGalilee,teachingin their synagoguesand proclaimingthe gospelof the kingdom,and healingeverykindof diseaseand every kindof sicknessamongthe people.
"[It is] not whatentersinto the mouth[that] defilesthe man,but whatproceedsout of the mouth,thisdefilesthe man."
for an angelof the Lordwent downat certainseasonsinto the pooland stirredup the water;whoever thenfirst,afterthe stirringup of the water,steppedin was madewellfrom whateverdiseasewith whichhe was afflicted].
