"Speakto the sonsof Israel,saying,'You shall not eatanyfat[from] an ox,a sheepor a goat.
"You shall dothe samewith your oxen[and] with your sheep.It shall be with its mothersevendays;on the eighthdayyou shall giveit to Me.
"The priestshall sprinklethe bloodon the altarof the LORDat the doorwayof the tentof meeting,and offerup the fatin smokeas a soothingaromato the LORD.
Then the LORDspoketo Moses,saying,
FOR THE HEARTOF THISPEOPLEHAS BECOME DULL,AND WITH THEIR EARSTHEY SCARCELYHEAR,AND THEY HAVE CLOSEDTHEIR EYES;OTHERWISETHEY MIGHT SEEWITH THEIR EYES,AND HEARWITH THEIR EARS,AND UNDERSTANDWITH THEIR HEARTAND RETURN,AND I WOULD HEALTHEM."'
Let us behaveproperlyas in the day,not in carousingand drunkenness,not in sexual promiscuityand sensuality,not in strifeand jealousy.
for ifyou are livingaccordingto the flesh,you mustdie;but ifby the Spirityou are putting to deaththe deedsof the body,you will live.
Whoatethe fatof their sacrifices,[And] drankthe wineof their drinkoffering?Let them riseup and helpyou, Let them be your hidingplace!
Whydo you kickat My sacrificeand at My offeringwhichI have commanded[in My] dwelling,and honoryour sonsaboveMe, by makingyourselves fatwith the choicestof everyofferingof My peopleIsrael?'
